ABOUT US
The Worthy Woman Initiative, Inc. was founded with a simple but powerful belief: that every person has the right to a second chance. Women returning from incarceration face unique challenges as they try to rebuild their lives and reintegrate into society. They may struggle to find employment or stable housing, or face legal issues related to their past convictions. Also, some face emotional challenges as they cope with the trauma of incarceration and the stigma of being a formerly incarcerated person.
TWWI offers a range of services designed to address the physical, emotional, and practical needs of women returning from incarceration. This includes job training and placement assistance, housing assistance, legal aid, counseling, education and skills training, and support groups. By addressing these needs we can help these women achieve stability and success in their personal and professional lives.
Our work is everlasting, loving, and supportive. Building community and creating a sense of belonging for our participants is our vision. That's why we offer support groups, where women can connect with others who are going through similar experiences and find a sense of support and understanding.
The journey of reintegration is not easy, but we are committed to walking alongside these women every step of the way.
We believe in their strength and resilience. We are dedicated to supporting them as they work towards a brighter future. We aim to empower these women to succeed and thrive in their personal and professional endeavors to create a brighter and more inclusive future for all.
“The WOMANifesto”
We believe in every woman’s right to thrive, no matter their age, life stage, or circumstance.
We offer a seat at our table to any woman with a desire to see a significant change in her life.
We understand that long-held, self-destructive habits may be the result of trauma but can be overcome with a commitment to healing practices.
We believe in the power of every woman to rise in resilience.
We build each other up, not tear each other down.
We take the work of getting and maintaining mental, emotional, and spiritual health - seriously.
We believe that pursuing our life’s purpose is a worthy endeavor.
We believe in passing on the knowledge we gain and lifting others.
We believe in whole-hearted living - not just “doing.”
We believe in our own power to change our lives.
